Eligibility Criteria & Detailed Job Information

Principal Publication Officer (PPO) Essential: Officers of Central/State Governments/Institutions/Universities/Autonomous Bodies.

  • Holding analogous posts on regular basis OR 5 years’ regular service in Level-11 (₹67,700–2,08,700).
  • Master’s degree in Urdu from recognized University/equivalent.
  • 10 years’ experience in publication work, including research/teaching/editorial, translation, printing, and production of books.

Desirable: Preference to candidates with M.A. in Arabic or Persian.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years.
Method of Recruitment: Deputation/Short term contract.

Assistant Editor (AE)
  • Master’s degree in Urdu or English.
  • Urdu subject at degree level (MA Urdu) or in case of MA (English), must have English editing & translation experience from English/Hindi into Urdu and vice versa.
  • 3 years’ editing/translation experience (from English, Hindi to Urdu and vice versa).

Age Limit: 35 years.
Method of Recruitment: Direct.

  • PPO applicants must follow proper channel; prescribed format on NCPUL website, with vigilance clearance and APARs of last 5 years.
  • Those already employed must apply through the proper channel/NOC.
  • Assistant Editor applications are online via official website.
  • Age will be reckoned from advertisement closing date.
  • Advance copy for PPO can be sent for timely processing; official approval to follow.
  • Candidates selected will be governed by NCPUL “New Pension Scheme”.
  • Right to cancel/vary the number of posts is reserved by NCPUL.
